Tip-a-Cop for Special Olympics
On April 21st, from 5 – 9 PM, the Marker 37 restaurant in Chester, CT will be hosting a Tip-a-Cop event to raise money for the Special Olympics Connecticut. The event will feature the Town of Chester CT State Police Officers assisting our waitstaff, with 100% of proceeds going to support Special Olympics athletes.

The Special Olympics is an international organization that provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The Tip-a-Cop event is a great opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying a delicious meal and some friendly service from our local police officers. We hope to see you on Friday, April 21st, 2023 from 5 – 9 PM.

About the Special Olympics
The Special Olympics is an international organization that provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization strives to provide opportunities for people with intellectual & physical disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy.  While participating in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

The Special Olympics was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of President John F. Kennedy. The first Special Olympics Games were held in Chicago, Illinois, in 1968, and since then, the organization has grown to include more than 5 million athletes in more than 170 countries.

The Special Olympics is funded by a variety of sources, including corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and government grants. The organization is also supported by a network of volunteers who work to provide sports training and competition opportunities for Special Olympics athletes.

The Special Olympics is a valuable organization that provides opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to participate in sports and develop physical fitness. The organization also helps to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities in the community.

Marker 37 is located at Chester Point Marina and open to the public. Our off-street parking lot is to the left of the Marina Entrance. Handicap Parking is available near the Showroom doors.
